Tendril – a self-extending agent that builds and registers its own tools

Tendril is an open-source agentic sandbox that enables AI agents to autonomously discover, build, and register tools without user intervention. Built with AWS Strands Agents SDK, Tauri, and Deno, it uses three bootstrap tools to let agents write and execute new capabilities as needed. The persistent capability registry grows smarter with each session, demonstrating a scalable pattern for adaptive agent behavior.
