Oracle has expanded its fuel cell contract with Bloom Energy to 2.8 GW of capacity, with 1.2 GW already deployed in 2026–2027. The deal reflects the broader AI infrastructure buildout challenge: with a $300 billion OpenAI commitment and grid connection waits reaching seven years, companies are deploying on-site power generation. Bloom previously delivered an OCI fuel cell system in 55 days, ahead of the typical 90-day timeline.
