Chrome lacks protections against browser fingerprinting, a tracking technique that identifies users via metadata like OS, screen resolution, and fonts. Privacy consultant Alexander Hanff documented at least 30 active fingerprinting techniques deployed on millions of websites to identify users without consent. As browsers strengthened cookie-based defenses, advertisers shifted to fingerprinting, which is harder to block.
