Ask.com, the search engine and Q&A service formerly known as Ask Jeeves, has shut down after 30 years. IAC, which acquired the service in 2005, discontinued it as part of a strategic portfolio focus. The service, which pioneered conversational search before modern AI chatbots, officially closed on May 1, 2026.
