Bringing Rust to the Pixel Baseband

Google is integrating a Rust-based DNS parser into Pixel 10's modem firmware to eliminate memory-safety vulnerabilities. The cellular modem is a critical attack surface with tens of megabytes of complex code; Rust implementation using the hickory-proto library mitigates an entire class of vulnerabilities while demonstrating industry adoption of memory-safe languages in embedded systems.
