Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei expressed deep discomfort with the rapid, accidental concentration of power among a handful of AI companies, attributing it partly to pure chance in how founders of fast-scaling firms acquire outsized influence. In an interview with Nikhil Kamath on the WTF Is podcast, Amodei referenced his January essay "The Adolescence of Technology," which warned that AI leaders are amassing "personal fortunes well into the trillions" with disproportionate political power. Amodei and Anthropic's six cofounders have pledged to donate 80% of their wealth to address these risks.
